New Employee Orientation Program The New Employee Orientation Program (NEOP) is an intense multi-day educational program to provide an overview of the Rural/Metro® Ambulance policies, procedures, and practices utilizing administrative and field personnel to teach during the program. The NEOP also provides focused education and training about operational, safety, and procedural aspects of the organization. The NEOP includes human relations presentations such as Person-to-Person, Respect for Others education, fire safety in the workplace, and blood borne pathogen training. Operational education includes a Driver Development Program (DDP) class, which provides classroom and in-field experience in driving ambulances in emergency and non-emergency conditions. Procedural presentations include topics such as documentation of pre-hospital care, assessment of specific patient care procedures, HIPAA requirements, and orientation to the specific patient care equipment used by Rural/Metro® Ambulance. The Salem Fire Department EMS Coordinator presents the history, goals and objectives of the partnership between Salem Fire Dept. and Rural Metro Ambulance and how this partnership benefits the citizens and community of the City of Salem.
